My penny's worth ... the American Healthcare System is sick. It needs to be replaced. No system will ever be perfect. However, the NHS in Great Britain is not a bad model ... it does not equate to poor service, it is not free, it is not perfect BUT if anybody thinks that what is on offer in the USA is "superior", or "better" or "affordable" ... please think again. I don't care for politics but this issue needs to fixed and fixed for the people! Not for the rich, not for politicians, not for the drug companies, and not for the insurance companies!
Keeping patients information electronically is not a problem ... the hackers that might hack in are the problem ... put a few of those away for a very long sentence and you'll fix that problem!
Illegal immigrants need not be covered ... simple as that. (Punish the companies that hire them!)
NO AMNESTY for illegal immigrants ... they're breaking the law for fucks sake!
(And, no, I'm not saying they shouldn't come here in the first place ... I'm saying they should come here LEGALLY in the first place!!!!!)
Stop advertising drugs on the TV ... it is not necessary ... trust your doctor to prescribe what is necessary - not a 30-second commercial shown in between CSI and Jay Leno!!
Stop the mentality of suing at the drop of a hat!
If a doctor is crap - take his license away ... end of story (and yes there should be compensation for mistakes but it doesn't have to be a big legal court battle ... if done fair and square it can be remedied.)
STOP the whole issue of pre-existing conditions. STOP punishing people for being ill!!!!
Do whatever it takes to keep the costs down!
Cut out the paperwork!!!
Allow freedom of choice to go to any doctor, any hospital.
